A renewed online strategy puts accountant Finnerz in the spotlight

The challenge

Nico Langendoen discovered that only 10% of Dutch entrepreneurs have real-time insight into their business finances. That had to change. By leveraging smart software and Artificial Intelligence, he managed to streamline the bookkeeping process far more efficiently than most. As a result, Finnerz experienced rapid growth, now scaling at 50% per year. What began as a simple one-pager website and the occasional social post has evolved into a thriving company with over 600 clients and a growing need for new talent. To support this growth, Nico turned to Harborn to develop a new online strategy.

From strategy session to a strong (visual) concept

Finnerz positions itself as “the smartest bookkeeper” in the Netherlands. In a highly competitive market, a strong online presence built on thought leadership is essential. We kicked off the project with a strategic session, identifying core values, goals, buyer personas, and Finnerz’s unique market positioning. These insights formed the foundation for a focused content strategy and also inspired the visual direction of the new website.

LinkedIn was chosen as the primary content channel. Harborn’s team now manages the Finnerz LinkedIn page weekly, posting a mix of expert and personal content. By focusing on building authority while humanizing the brand, Finnerz strengthens its ability to attract talent and build brand affinity.

AI-generated design inspiration

As part of the renewed digital customer journey, the Finnerz website was also given a complete redesign. The previous version, nearly five years old, no longer aligned with current expectations and needs. At Harborn, we often explore AI tools for inspiration during design phases. For the new homepage layout, we used Midjourney, an AI tool for generating design ideas and imagery. Using predefined brand guidelines and layout preferences, we generated various screens and visuals. These AI-generated concepts served as creative input for the final design.

From one-pager to structured WordPress site

The original one-pager website made it difficult to convey the full Finnerz story. Transitioning to a more comprehensive WordPress site significantly improved the user experience, content structure, and search engine visibility. We also developed a custom pricing calculator. This tool allows visitors to estimate their potential monthly costs, lowering the barrier to reach out. Behind the scenes, the tool anonymously tracks selected options (with user consent), offering Finnerz valuable insight into service demand. These insights inform future strategic decisions and service development.

The result

The new digital strategy has clearly elevated the Finnerz brand. With a more professional and consistent online presence, the company has seen an increase in both quote requests and job applications.

The website now offers a modern look and feel, guiding users naturally toward key conversion points. Organic visibility has improved, and engagement on LinkedIn has increased by 30%, thanks to consistent and on-brand content. Harborn also produced new case studies for the site, based on real client interviews, the very first published case directly generated five new leads.
