The challenge
For many years, Euro-Index worked with an ERP system that was increasingly customized over time. What started as a functional solution grew with the organization and its specific requirements. The result was a powerful but complex system with extensive customization. This offered opportunities, but also created limitations: integration options were limited, and the system was reaching end-of-life.
At the same time, there was a broader challenge: the need to work smarter and more efficiently. To maintain its position as market leader and remain future-ready, Euro-Index explored how AI could improve the calibration process. The existing ERP system did not provide sufficient flexibility for this. This led to the question: do we rebuild customized functionality in a new ERP, opt for a standard SaaS solution, or develop a fully proprietary system?
The solution
Euro-Index chose to reduce customization in the renewed ERP system and had Harborn build a tailored calibration platform to maintain maximum flexibility, control, and future readiness. To determine the right direction, we started with a hackathon. In a single day, we explored multiple ideas and demonstrated that the smart use of AI could significantly accelerate and simplify the calibration process.
Based on these insights, we developed new calibration software that integrates seamlessly with the updated ERP system. The platform aligns fully with existing workflows and is clear and intuitive to use. Employees can easily enter data, while smart automation and data analysis eliminate much of the manual work.
