Holmatro is a global leader in hydraulic tools for rescue services and industrial applications. With an international network of professional users, reliable digital support has become increasingly important. With the introduction of new systems, customer portals and applications, digital development accelerated and the IT landscape became more complex. While these new systems created opportunities, they also required stronger integration and better alignment across channels. The existing corporate website ran on Drupal 8, an end-of-life version without security updates. Due to a mix of custom development and standard modules, upgrading was not a safe or future-ready option.

Meanwhile, the Rescue Equipment and Hydraulic Solutions divisions were operating more independently. They needed room for distinct positioning while maintaining a strong, unified brand. Performance, structure, accessibility and scalability converged into one clear conclusion: Holmatro needed a new digital foundation that combined security, scalability, and brand consistency.

A platform built to grow

Harborn developed a new global corporate website where brand, technology, and user experience come together in one scalable, future-focused platform. Not a static website, but a flexible foundation that supports new features, integrations, and content structures.

Both divisions operate within one consistent brand experience, while content can be tailored by region, language, and business unit. This ensures information remains relevant and accessible worldwide. Product information is automatically synchronized through the Syncforce PIM system. This keeps product data accurate and consistent while reducing manual work and the risk of errors.

One brand, multiple audiences

Rescue professionals, industrial users, distributors, and partners each have their own information needs. The challenge was to serve these audiences without fragmenting the brand. Together with Holmatro, we developed a clear content structure. Navigation, templates, and content types were designed to help visitors quickly find what they need, while maintaining a consistent brand experience across divisions and regions. This allows Holmatro to communicate one overarching brand story while also presenting division-specific propositions, without creating separate websites or duplicate content.

Built with real users

End users were actively involved through user testing during the design phase. UX designers observed both verbal and nonverbal feedback to understand navigation behavior, expectations, and friction points. Insights from these sessions were directly incorporated into design iterations. At the same time, stakeholders from both divisions and the IT department were closely involved to align technical, functional, and organizational requirements. The result is a platform that not only works conceptually, but also performs in real- world use.

The platform:

  • Runs on a current and fully supported technical foundation;
  • Simplifies integration with systems and portals;
  • Supports the distinct identities of both divisions;
  • Better complies with accessibility guidelines;
  • Delivers improved performance, structure, and content clarity.

The new website provides a strong foundation, but it is not the endpoint. Holmatro and Harborn are already working on the next phase, including additional functionality such as product comparison and richer product visualizations. In this way, the platform continues to evolve in line with Holmatro’s international ambitions: Mastering Power.
